ARTA Turntable Module
The ARTA Turntable Module is a ready-to-use control assembly for automated loudspeaker turntables. It was developed for reproducible angular and directivity measurements and is supplied with a programmed processor.
Automated angular measurements
The controller connects the turntable mechanism, a DC geared motor with encoder and the measurement computer. Defined angular positions can be approached repeatedly, allowing directivity and polar measurements to be carried out systematically.

Use in the measurement setup
The module is suitable for custom turntable designs and for existing setups that are to be equipped with a suitable electronic positioning controller. The turntable mechanism, motor and power supply are selected to suit the individual project.
Recommended motors
DC geared motors with encoders are required for the build. The product page names the following motor types, among others, as guidance:
- Pololu 150:1 Metal Gearmotor 37D, 12 V, with 64 CPR encoder
- Phidgets 12 V / 17.3 kg·cm / 18 RPM, 139:1 DC geared motor with a separately available encoder for a 4 mm motor shaft
Before purchasing a motor, check the mechanical gearing, encoder resolution, torque, power supply and compatibility with your own turntable.
